It's a...

It's a GIRL!
Kindi Kae Wells

We had our 20 week ultrasound today! I love this appointment! I find it amazing that we can see the life growing with in a person. What a blessing! We watched her move around and try to hide her face with her hands, fascinating!

So my appointment started out a little bit awkward for me. My tech was a male. The last time, and every time I went with my sister, the tech was a woman. Then to top off the weirdness, he handed me a *gulp* hospital gown and robe and says, "I'm sure you will look wonderful in these" then proceeded to inform me that the gown opening went in the back and the robe opening went in the front. Okay, not only was that strange, I just kind of chuckled and said, "Oh, yeah." (dripping with sarcasm), but with Kaden I didn't have to wear a gown... I just pulled up my shirt and undid the top button on my pants. So of course when I come out of the changing room (yeah that's right, you have to change then walk down the hall to your ultrasound room) he comments on how he was right, that I looked great in the gown. (insert another chuckle from me and sarcastic comment) I think he was just trying to put me at ease, he wasn't creepy or anything and once we got in the room and got started I forgot any awkwardness, he was very professional. He did a great job explaining to us what we were seeing, but when he wasn't quick enough Jeremy was quick to jump in and guess that what he was seeing was a boy. Nope, just an umbilical cord! You know... the tech probably told me his name... but I don't remember it. He did his measurements very quickly and efficiently, but unlike the lady who did Kaden's ultrasound he didn't even TRY to see what we were having until the end. I think he was of the persuasion that you shouldn't find out. :) Too bad! Halfway through he said I could use the bathroom. Hallelujah! In case you haven't ever been, they make you drink 32 ounces of water before you go in and you can't go pee! That is torture to a pregnant woman! So he stands up and says, "Let me know when your feet hit the floor." Then starts to leave. I was confused... why do I need to tell him when my feet hit the floor? Then I realized that he wasn't leaving, but rather was just standing behind a curtain until I was properly covered again. When I came back he described my relief as 'a joy'. Not the choice of words I would have used for using the restroom, but it amused me non the less. After this he did some more measurements then FINALLY he got to the part I had been anxiously waiting for. And he said, "Well, I can tell you what you are not having..." Here I am thinking, okay, well then you could tell me what I AM having... there are only two choices here. "You are not having a goat." Oh brother! Just tell me already! He is lucky I didn't know him or I might have hit him for that one. :) Finally he says okay, you are having... and Jeremy jumps in with, "It's a boy! I see a wiener." Nope just that umbilical cord again. So he proceeds to outline the whole baby explaining each part as he gets to and of course he started at her head! Finally he told me what I wanted to hear. I'm having a girl! Kaden is going to have a little sister! I'm super excited.
I thought about waiting to tell you till the end of this blog just as he made me wait, but then I figured, you could just skip to the end if you wanted to, so no since in making you wait. :) I didn't intend for this to be such a long story when I started it, but as I mentioned in the beginning, I love this appointment.
So, our little Kindi Kae (my mother in law's middle name is Kae) will be joining us in April, at least that is the plan! She is strong and healthy looking and had a heart beat of 141.
