The Eyes of a Child

Ahh... My little baby is growing up.  It wasn't long ago that he hated it when I would lay him down with some toys to look at.  Now... he will entertain himself for an hour.  He is getting to be so aware of the things around him and just drinks them in.  As I carry him through the house he sits up straight and his eyes roam everywhere finding new things to look at.    He still doesn't like to do any tummy time though.  I can only get about 1 1/2 minutes out of him before he starts screaming!

Thanks Julie!  Kaden fell asleep playing with this last night!

I love this bouncer (thanks to my family).  I put Kaden in it while I cook or do dishes on the counter, I know... I know.. you aren't supposed to put it on the counter, but my kitchen is so small I am never more than a foot or two away from him.  He will sit and play with those toys all by himself.  And the great thing about a bouncer is when he gets excited he kicks, then the toys MOVE, and he gets more excited!

As you can see, Kaden is very into that little elephant.  I think they are having a staring contest!

Bad Hair Day (Part Two)

Okay, so I had no luck with the Cradles Cap Care.  One of my best friends is a hair dresser and she suggested Baking Soda...  Yeah, it sounded strange to me too.  :)  She said she tried it on their foster son and it worked great.  You make a paste out of it and put it on their head for awhile then wash it out.  Well we tried it for the first time today.

Mom what in the world are you doing to me?

I think you might be crazy

Yep!  You are definitely crazy!

Well... I think it helped some, but it definitely is not gone.  Amy said she had to do it twice to her son.  So I guess I will try it again Saturday.  I think I will give him a break tomorrow since we will be headed up to the Doctor.   He sure has been a trooper though!

Bad Hair Day

So I don't know if any of you have ever had a baby that has cradles cap, and a lot of hair...  It is proving to be quite the experience.  I wanted to relieve my son of these unsightly scales on his head, so I bought some Cradle Cap Care.  It says right on the bottle, 'Light and Non-Greasy'.  You are supposed to apply a small amount to the affected area...  I tried a small amount and it wouldn't get through all of that hair to his scalp.  So I tried a little bit more, and a little bit more, and it took a LOT.  Then they say brush it with a soft brush... well I don't have a brush for Kaden, but another book I had read said to use a washcloth.  That did absolutely nothing that I could tell, so I proceeded to wash it out (Like it says in the directions).  I shampooed his little head and rinsed it out, but it felt a little bit sticky, so I rinsed it again, and again, and again until my little son was well fed up with me.  Guess it must be good enough...  WRONG!  As I combed through his hair after his bath sure enough a few scales came out, but something much more interesting happened...So if for some reason you ever need to make your childs hair stand on end...  Buy some Cradles Cap Care.  It works better than gel and isn't crunchy!  His hair was still standing up after sleeping all night!

Something New

So, I don't know if I will actually keep up with this.  I have never been into writing much about myself or what's going on... But now I have a son.  I find that I have a lot more stories to tell, and I'm sure that they would interest people a LOT more then a story about my day before Kaden.  :)  'I read a book and cleaned the house today.' would get fairly boring after awhile.
So, here I am.  Don't expect much or you may be disappointed.  At least you will have a few cute pictures to look at!  :)
