Grandma and Papa Wells come to visit.

Grandma and Papa Wells came to visit at the end of October and this time they brought Lily with them. Lily didn't have a fishy experience like Emma, but she did try to pinch her finger off in a chair.

Papa and Kaden show their affection by 'bonk, bonk-ing'.
Kaden already liked to head butt people and things, but Papa encouraged it. He would say 'Bonk bonk' to Kaden and Kaden would bump heads with him... He even tries to do it when they call on the web cam.

Oh how he loves to read!
Grandma got him a book subscription of his very own!
You are lucky if you can read all the words before he turns the page on you.
Kaden and Grandma getting some snuggles.
Lily was so much fun! She followed him around and cleaned up all of his messes so he could make them all over again!
Please can I have your apple Papa?

Check Me Out!

Get ready for another blog rush. You would think I would just take a few minutes and do these when I take the pictures, but no. I like to wait until I have a ton to do then spend lots of time working on them. :)
Who me?
In Kaden's world nothing should be on the coffee table. He walks in a circle around it tossing everything onto the floor.

Kaden drinks so much water! Hopefully we can keep him in that habit. :) And he always drinks his sippy cup with his left hand, other than that he seems to be right handed.

He has gotten so tall he can see out the screen door window now.

I'm already in trouble! This particular day Kaden ate a piece of Raisin Toast and two waffles. Another day he ate some cocoa puffs and 4, yeah that's right, FOUR pancakes. I hate to imagine what he will put away as a teen...

One day Kaden was watching his cousin Lily stack the coasters yet again after he tossed them all over the floor. Next thing we knew he was stacking them all by himself. It was fun to watch him concentrate, and he did it so well too. It wasn't like he got lucky or anything, he knew exactly what he wanted to do, and could just do it.

So now not only does he 'help' with the dishes, but he discovered that after he knocked this piece of Tupperware over he could stand on it and get stuff off of the counter. And he is so incredibly fast! I turn to the sink to rinse off another dish and by the time I turn back around he is pulling stuff off of the counter. Now I have to be careful what I put in the dishwasher... I usually have a pile of stuff off to the side of the sink that I put in right before I close it!

Just in case you were wondering. We had another baby appointment the other day. Baby's heart rate was 158 and she was moving around like crazy! We get to go in for our 20 week ultrasound on December 2nd and see if I am right about her being a girl! I can't wait.

Rice Spill

Kaden has gotten really good at entertaining himself. He loves to explore around the house, finding new things to play with and make a mess with. His favorites being to throw my books off of the bookcase, spread all of his books and the DVD's around the living room, and strip the shelf in the kitchen of all the pitchers, bowls and lids that he can. About a week ago or so, he created his best mess yet...
Can you tell what that is? That is approximately half a 5 gallon bucket of rice. We have a couple of buckets stacked up in the corner with bulk foods. Well the handle on the top one was facing out instead of into the wall and he tried to use it to pull himself up... Unfortunately down he came with the bucket spilling it's contents all over him.
The cool part about this? When you crawl really fast through the rice, back and forth, it makes really neat sounds!
I salvaged what I could from the top layer, and then attempted to clean things up. Have you ever tried to clean up a pile of rice while your 10 month old is crawling back and forth in it! And short of locking him in his room, I couldn't keep him out of it. It was just too much fun!
Of course he wanted to 'help' when he saw what I was doing!
He took the dust pan and hand broom from me and began to 'clean'.
Hooray! I did it!
Okay, so maybe he didn't help much, but he sure looks cute trying! Luckily for me Daddy came home shortly after this and took Kaden to play while I finished cleaning up.

Just Having Some Fun.

Kaden discovered that playing in a basket with his toys is quite fun! Grandma Wells taught him this trick the last time we went to visit them. It works well once in awhile when I am trying to get something done and can't do it with him pulling on my leg. :)
As per Dad's request (Sorry Dad, I'm not taking the blame ALL by myself for sneaking a picture like this!) I snapped this picture of Mom and Malaki (My sisters son) playing the Play Station. Malaki loves to play and is always begging someone to come play with him. I love how they are posed the same!
Daddy brought home a piece of an old pen for Kaden to play with. When you press the button it lights up. It also happens to be the perfect size for chewing on. :) We are hoping it will entertain Kaden when we are driving at night. He doesn't like being in the car when it is dark.

I can't remember if I ever sent out my latest information or not... Our last baby appointment was on the 14th. We all got to hear the heartbeat. Kaden was quite impressed with the gel they put on my belly and would have loved to get his hands in it. He also was impressed with the sound of the heartbeat. Baby's heart rate was 162. We are still hoping for a girl!

10 Months Old

Yep Kaden is 10 months old already. He will be a year old in just two short months. That is so hard to believe! He has definitely been a wonderful joy for us though.

Roar!

My cute little lion.

This pouty face just cracked me up. He really didn't want to be still for pictures, and it shows!

I'm a big boy now!

Wow, lots to catch up on...

Wow, since I didn't have my computer for a month or two, I really have a lot to share! So, I will probably keep things short and sweet because this is already going to be a long post!

One of the first foods Kaden started eating all by himself was fresh green beans. Usually he eats them cooked, but if he can snag one while you are snapping them, he will eat it raw too... sort of... most of it ends up on the floor!
As you can see, he devoured that plate in a hurry... of course then you take a look at his tummy and the sides of his highchair! He does love them though, I just scoop them back onto his plate and he tries again!
Kaden crawls like a pro now! These were taken after he had a blood draw from his arm, and a couple of shots in the leg.
He also is pulling himself up on everything he can get his hands on. And more recently he is now standing without support and has even 'accidentally' taken a few steps. I say accidentally because as soon as he realizes that he isn't holding on to anything he eases down to the floor and crawls. It won't be long now before he is running!
This is one of my most favorite developments. :) Kaden has figured out that when he is sleepy and ready for bed or a nap, all he has to do is come ask to be held. He lays against me and falls asleep. It has been really precious on the mornings that I am feeling sick and don't want to move off of the couch. He just lays down right next to me and we both take our naps!

Guess now would be a good time to tell you that Kaden is going to be a big brother in April! :)
It is pretty hard to see in this ultrasound, but there is our new baby at 9 weeks. She (I'm hoping!) is upside down and if you look close you can see her head and body with little arms and tiny legs. We are about 12 weeks now.

Kaden got to experience the State Fair this year. He did so well, Jeremy and I were impressed. We all had a good time then dashed home when it all of a sudden started pouring buckets of rain! Welcome to Oregon!
One of Kaden's new 'tricks' is pointing. He loves to point. And he is getting pretty good at expressing what he wants with his pointing. It is quite entertaining to be ordered around by a 9 month old's pointer! If he wants something he will point to you, then the object. :) I figure that is his way of asking please at the moment!
My sweet boy LOVES to 'help' with the dishes. I put them in... he takes them out!

Uncle Heath takes Kaden to the petting zoo at the Walla Walla County Fair where the girls show their goats.
Jeremy and I both have electric tooth brushes and Kaden always wants to use them. So I bought him his own toddler electric tooth brush. He loves to brush his teeth while I am and watches me intently in the mirror. Once in awhile he gets a little mixed up!
Today we had tuna casserole for lunch. Kaden is getting pretty good about getting most of his food into his mouth now, but that doesn't mean he isn't a disaster when he is done!
I took him straight from his chair to the bath!

9 Months

My baby is growing up so fast these days! I can hardly believe it. It is amazing how quickly he is changing and growing too. One of his favorite activities these days is 'reading'.
He loves to crawl up in the rocking chair with me, then lean over the arm where his books lay on the floor. Then he points (pointing is pretty recent and Oh, so cute!) at his books and gives a half giggle. Until I pick one up! Then he snuggles back with me to turn the pages. That is really all he wants to do, but he tolerates me reading, as long as I don't take too long, and make sure to point to the page a lot!
Dog has an orange fish.

Mom! I'm trying to read here. You are disturbing me.

Gotta love that smile!

8 Months

So since my computer was down for awhile I am a wee bit behind. (But thankfully I am back up and running... it seems that it didn't delete my pictures... it just moved them somewhere else. :) Uncle Chuck found them for me. I didn't think to look in a different place for them! At least I think that is what happened.) So, just in case you thought I forgot... Here are Kaden's 8 month pictures!

I love this expression!

Oh how he loves to stand!
